How the sleep cost is calculated

Every completed match is converted into each fanbase's representative home time zone. We then measure how much of the 120-minute viewing period falls inside a 23:00–07:00 sleep window. Collective totals multiply the per-supporter estimate by national population as a simple fanbase-size proxy.
